WHIC Secretariat

Effective collaboration at regional, provincial and inter-jurisdictional levels requires dedicated facilitation, support, coordination and senior leadership. A WHIC Secretariat was established to coordinate and support the western provinces and territories in exploring and validating common opportunities to sustain the strategic directions and initiatives for health infostructure across western jurisdictions.

For the fiscal year 2004/2005 the WHIC Secretariat team is hosted by Alberta Health and Wellness and is located in Alberta. WHIC Secretariat activities have assisted the western province/territories in achieving their common objectives through facilitation, collaborative planning, issue management, communication and logistics support.

Key Secretariat Responsibilities include:

strengthening the capacity of western provinces/territories to explore opportunities for collaboration,

identifying and solving issues hindering effective collaboration, and

identifying, sharing and applying best practices and lessons learned.

WHIC Secretariat Team consists of:
